“Nine Pounds of Dead Landscape,” GR10K‘s Spring Summer 2025 collection, made its runway debut at Milan Fashion Week with a special performance called “Stringent Manners.” Established by Anna Grassi, GR10K crafts an avant-garde and nonconformist fashion narrative by utilising her personal experiences with military and protective apparel. This season, GR10K keeps up its custom of avoiding mass production in favor of providing a genuine and culturally meaningful perspective on modern outposts and rural apparel. The collection is an erratic mix of concepts that uses nature as an aesthetic commodity as well as a decorative idea.

The backstage footage of field recording director James Benning’s films, which primarily feature factories, taxidermy, and anti-horizons, served as inspiration for the collection’s design. SS25 addresses the impact of advanced technology on natural landscapes, merging standard items with standalone pieces and collection sub-layers. This approach results in a material translation of the desire to capture the deadly shades of near-to-death flowers. Innovative fabrics such as paper-touch poplin, hyper-light membranes, textured technical jerseys, and peach-skin fleeces have revolutionised rural apparel. High-density cotton waffle knits and UHMWPE yarn are used to exhibit the knitwear, and mud- and waterproof-proof duster jackets showcase the collision between contemporary technology and 1950s design.

GR10K’s first eyewear products, created in collaboration with Factory 900, are also included in the SS25 collection. Through this partnership, cutting-edge technology and artisanal craftsmanship are combined to create ergonomic eyewear that is ready for performance. It comes in two shapes and two colours. Furthermore, GR10K has worked with the ecological organization DEEP to develop custom tools for continuing fieldwork projects that broaden viewpoints outside urban norms.

A fundamental component of GR10K’s character has always been artistic collaboration. For SS25, the brand partnered with visual artist Matilde Solbiati, known for her unconventional collage and photographic distortion techniques. Solbiati’s work on standardizing picturesque details and revisiting outdated natural representations has resulted in a set of four scarves titled ‘Rural Scanning’ and limited edition cameo pins.

GR10K showed SS25 with its first live presentation, “Stringent Manners,” which reflects on experimental music and the political spirit of post-war contemporary composition. This four-hour tuning session of string instruments will follow no rule of engagement other than dissonance. The event took place on June 14th at Auditorium San Fedele, a prestigious venue known for its technologically advanced space and annual program featuring international electronic experimentation.
