Fashion house DIOR presented its Spring 2023 Men’s Capsule Collection designed by the brand’s creative director Kim Jones and Eli Russell Linnetz, creative director of ERL. The collection mixes the brand’s excellent craftsmanship with California’s relaxed vibe. It transforms ocean waves into an essential motif to pay tribute to freedom. The brand’s iconic saddle is reimagined as an exquisite golden “men’s minaudiere” created entirely of metal and quartz. For the season Dior highlights adventures spirit, and brings balance between audacity and refinement.
We have worked with lots of different people on our collections, but this time I wanted to work with someone in a different way; I wanted somebody to see Dior from a different angle. With Eli Russell Linnetz, not only do I like his work but working with a younger designer on Dior Men and seeing things from his perspective, felt incredibly inspiring. It was both familiar and revelatory; reaffirming why we both dreamed about working in fashion in the first place. – Kim Jones
